Today, Sandy City Is Utah’s Sixth-Largest City.

Sandy is located just south of Utah’s capital, Salt Lake City. Though we aren’t too sure where Sandy’s name came from, many people think the religious leader, Brigham Young named the city for its dry soil. Because of the dry conditions of Sandy’s land, the population growth was slow. However, once silver mining started in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Sandy began to attract a lot of attention. Because the mining industry was experiencing such success, there were three large smelting centers in Sandy, giving Sandy a reputation for smelting for years.

In 1893, around the time mines began to fail, Sandy was officially incorporated as a city. This marked a pivotal moment in Sandy’s history. What used to be a mining town became a small, family oriented community. Today, Sandy is a booming city with well over 90,000 residents.

Though Sandy is a large community, the city still hosts regular events in order to bring its residents together. Each year, Sandy holds an annual balloon festival with plenty of activities, food trucks, live music, and a 5k race. Sandy also hosts a Sandy City Heritage Festival that’s dedicated to exploring the history of Sandy.

Sandy is also an extremely artistic community. Utahns from all over the state visit Sandy Amphitheater to see their favorite artists in concert. Sandy also hosts an annual visual art show and the Sandy Arts Guild has become the center of Sandy’s theater productions. The Sandy Arts Guild has been running for 35 years, celebrating its milestone anniversary in 2020.

Along with being an artistic community, Sandy is also a very active town. Each year is filled with numerous annual races, including the 4th of July 5k, which has been hosted annually for over 20 years. And, Sandy offers much more than just races. Sandy has miles upon miles of hiking and biking trails. The town also has several beautiful golf courses and its very own recreation division.

EMPATHY: ISO The Empathetic Attorney?

Great lawyers are more than our “Super Lawyers” or AVVO ratings.
Great lawyers are more than the number of stars behind our names on client ratings.
Great lawyers are the ones who understand that you—not them—are at the center. They are the ones who prioritize your emotional state and unique needs. Moxie seeks to be the unique brand of attorney: The Empathetic Attorney.

In 2018 UCLA researchers observed how women and men observe others in pain. The clear finding:
When watching others in pain, women’s brains show more empathy.

“What sets superior lawyers apart throughout their careers,” notes David Perla, president of Bloomberg Law, “One quality in particular: Empathy.”

Integrity: Ensuring the “I” Is Always Upfront

Acting with integrity means living your values—at all times, not just when it is convenient.

David Rivkin, former president of the International Bar Association, the global voice of the legal profession, noted: “The problem of lawyers assisting conduct that is corrupt or illegal is certainly more widespread.”

The legal profession prizes integrity so much that is a key aspect of professional conduct for attorneys. “A lawyer shall at all times maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity and fairness towards their clients, the court, colleagues and all those with whom the lawyer comes into professional contact.”

Let Moxie Law come into contact, connect, then partner with you to success. By listening to you and your needs, we will bring our commitment to integrity to your case and fight for you.

Tenacity

Moxie lawyers are experts at the paired concepts of efficiency and effectiveness.

Being effective means doing the right things, while being efficient is about doing things right.

Moxie does both.

Moxie efficiency is being crisp. It is accomplishment with the least amount of waste—be it time, money, or effort.

Moxie effectiveness is measured by the end result—and notsomuch “the” result, but your result. It is only an effective accomplishment if it is your accomplishment.

We love to win, and do so with a splendid blend of efficiency and effectiveness.
